There are plenty of fun neighbourhoods to explore and attractions to visit when you are in Vancouver, but there are also some exciting things to do around the city that are date specific. Below are a few of the events that will be happening in Vancouver between June 12-15, 2019.
The Vancouver Canadians are our local minor-league baseball team and an affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays. On Friday, June 14 at 1:05 pm, they will be taking on the Spokane Indians for their season opener at Nat Bailey Stadium. They’ll play a second game against the Spokane Indians on Saturday, June 15 at 7:05 pm. For tickets visit the team’s website.
The BC Lions are our province’s professional football team, competing in the Canadian Football League. On Saturday, June 15 at 7:00 pm, they will be facing off against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers at BC Place.
West End Car Free Day
On Saturday, June 15, the West End neighbourhood will be having a “car free” day on Denman from Davie to Robson streets (a short walk from the Sheraton Hotel where Atla Annual 2019 will be held). There will be lots of food, music, art exhibits, and other fun things to do. Check out the website for updates.
Bard on the Beach
One of the most beloved summer traditions in Vancouver is Bard on the Beach, back for its 30th season in 2019. On June 14 and 15 at 7:30 pm Bard on the Beach will be performing “The Taming of the Shrew.” Check out Bard on the Beach for more information.
Shipyards Night Market
Hosted on the North Shore on Friday evenings from 5 pm to 10 pm, the Shipyards Night Market features 100+ vendors offering food and drink, locally crafted products, art, and music. Hop on the Seabus from downtown Vancouver, sail across the harbour, and wind up at Lonsdale Quay, which is close to where the Shipyards Night Market is located. Free admission.
Richmond Night Market
The Richmond Night Market runs from Friday-Sunday, 7 pm – 12 am, and is famous for its wild and dazzling assortment of food, knick-knacks, and entertainment.
